The project reeds the distinctive features of the residential building in Milan, redefining them in a contemporary way. The themes proposed concerns:
Relationship with the ground, with a commercial basement able to create a visual connection with the residential part;
Design of a curtain that could redefine the public square, as the traditional blocks in Milan.
Definition of a volume able to maximize the sun exposure without shading the existing building close to the site.
The elevations are composed with a grid made by steel, a module repeated in different cadences on each floor. Behind this light structure there are massive walls made of stone, that are shifted southwards to create terraces and let the light into the court. In this part the structure in steel becomes an independent entity, which redefine the original curtain of the building without a massive volume.
